Follow These Steps to View Logs on Linux Server

First you need to connect to your Linux VPS using your favorite SSH client. Then you need to go to /var/log directory by using cd command.

1

To see all the files on the directory, use dir command. After doing so, you will see your Linux Server logs shown.

2

You can also use your favorite text editor to view the logs. For example, use vi command. Notice that vi is a text editor and it is also suitable for reading but we suggest using “less”, “more”, “cat”, “tail” for reading logs.

3

When you’re done viewing and want to stop it – type :q command and press Enter.
