How to create a new infobox in osCommerce 2.3.1
One of the easiest and fastest ways of creating a new information box in osCommerce 2.3.1 is by using the code of the existing box. In other words, you can copy the code of an existing information box, edit it depending on your requirements and install it using osCommerce admin panel.
Connect to the server where osCommerce is installed through FTP or any file manager. Copy or download file located at “includes/modules/boxes/bm_information.php” and open it for editing.
Find all entries with “bm_information” and replace “information” with any other name which you want to use as module name. Also, find all entries with “INFORMATION” and change them accordingly. Make sure to keep them in caps.
Save the file and upload it to the server in the same location as “bm_information.php”.
Then find another file “includes/languages/english/modules/boxes/bm_information.php” and copy or download it for editing. Make sure to give a name to this file different than the original file name.
Find all entries with “INFORMATION” and change them the same way as it was done with the previous file. File name should match the first file name as well. Upload the file to the same location
Login to osCommerce admin panel and navigate to “Modules>Boxes” and click on “Install Module” button in the right upper corner. There we should find our new module for information box. To install it simply click on “Install Module” button.
Once done, you can use a new information box in osCommerce. Go to the website front end to check how it’s looking.
