As Magento is an e-commerce system used mainly for selling products online, there will always be a need to manage orders. All orders are saved in Magento admin backend which you will need to review.

Follow These Steps to Change Order Status in Admin Panel

In some cases you might need to change the status for particular orders. This might be required if you are unable to complete it or the customer changed his mind about his purchase. Generally, it is possible to cancel, hold and unhold the orders. To do this, login to Magento admin backend and navigate to “Sales>Orders”.

From the opened orders list select the order that you want to change status for. Finally, choose one of the available actions from the right side list box.

As you can see you have options to “Cancel”, “Hold” and “Unhold”. For example, if you choose to cancel it, its status will be marked as cancelled. This is how simple it is to manage orders directly from Magento admin backend.
